2008 China Yiwu International Building Materials Trade Fair Opened 
AmandaIEC reports: 2008 China Yiwu International Building Materials Trade Fair opened at Meihu Exhibition Center of Yiwu city on the morning of September 24th. 
There are nearly 400 booths in the fair and 70% of the participants were from Taizhou, Yuhuan, Wenzhou, Yueqing and other Zhejiang production bases. The booths are located in Hall One and Hall Two of Meihu Exhibition Center. 
It is said that 75% of the building and hardware products are exported from Yiwu market, 70% of the lamps are exported from Yiwu via Ningbo Port, and there are over 10,000 foreign traders doing business here. All the participants have shown great interest in this Fair, just because Yiwu market plays a good role as a trade platform.

With the high speed development of building industry and architectural decoration industry, China’s building and building material industry have developed rapidly. At present, China has become the world’s largest manufacturing , consuming and export country in building materials industry. After China’s accession to the WTO, the global economic integration has been further strengthened. Yiwu, leading to the world bridgehead ,has gained rapid development in various fields of hardware and building materials industry as well as the international and domestic trade. At present, hardware, building materials and decoration materials industry in Yiwu have presented their strong development tendency, which has attracted a great many consumers both from home and abroad to purchase commodities here. The prospect is extremely optimistic. At the same time, the expansion of the foreign trade business is also very optimistic. For example: In Yiwu Goods and Materials Market, the foreign trade transaction volume in ceramic, bath, lighting, stone material account for around 30% of the entire transaction volume. The commodities have mainly sold in the countries of Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa. With the expansion of Yiwu urban construction, the transportation of large-scale cargo passing in and out the market is limited.
