260 meters high with a total investment of 5 billion yuan, Yiwu World Trade Center laid a foundation on December 27, which will become the highest building in mid-Zhejiang on its completion. The World Trade Center is located in Yiwu International Trade City financial and commercial core area, covering an overall land area of 49,500 square meters and planning construction area of 472,000 square meters. It is composed of a 260 meters high five-star hotel, three apartment style hotels with 150 meters high and top grade residence as well as commercial podium and is to be invested and built by the Shin Kong Group.
According to Yu Yunxin, CEO of Shin Kong Group, Yiwu World Trade Center is the first urban complex project in Yiwu. The 260-meter-high building will be the landmark of Yiwu city and the commercial podium will be constructed to be the largest and highest grade hyper shopping mall in mid-Zhejiang in order to alleviate the imbalance between business retail and commercial wholesale of Yiwu.

Yu said, in recent years, in many developed countries and advanced cities, the concept and practice of urban complex is still in the ascendant. The so-called urban complex means to combine at least three of a city’s commercial, office, residential, hotels, exhibition, restaurant, conference, entertainment, transportation and other urban living space and build up an interdependant and mutual beneficial dynamic relationship between each other so as to form a multi-functional, high-efficiency and high-quality synthesis. It is vividly called the “City Within A City” and is a brand new trend in current urban constructions.
In order to build perfect of this new height and new landmark of Yiwu, the company has invited the Architecture Design Institute of Tongji University and the United States RTKL design company to jointly work for it and seek the best in design, quality, appearance and effect.
