Europe becomes the No.1 market for Yiwu commodities 
AmandaIEC reports: The largest market for Yiwu products is not United States, but Europe since 2008. 
Yesterday, the reporter learned from Yiwu Industrial and Commercial Bureau that despite of the financial crisis, Yiwu market exports kept growing by 6.83% in 2008, with total trading value RMB49.2 billion. 
In the past, US has been the main market for Yiwu products for years, but since last year, American customers were becoming “stingy” and much less of them came to Yiwu to import goods. Yiwu started to diversify its markets by expanding to new markets, among which, Europe becomes the largest market for Yiwu products, with 31.79% of total Yiwu export in 2008. Garments, socks, crafts, zippers and accessories, yarns and fabrics are major exported categories.
