Yiwu is famous of its China Commodity City (CCC), i.e. International Trade City, Yiwu Market, Yiwu Futian Market. The Yiwu China Small Commodity City, built in east China's Zhejiang province, has attracted thousands of foreign traders who come here from 100 countries and regions in the world and make their long-time residence here to purchase goods at low prices. Every day goods are distributed from over 1,000 standard stalls in Yiwu to more than 212 countries and regions in the world. A trader from Yemen, A, pays a routine visit to Yiwu nearly every day, seeing samples, making orders, and transporting goods outside. Ever since the Yiwu China Small Commodity town was established, the world's largest small commodity center has become a regular place for him to buy things. Local people called him and other foreign traders as "yang shang" (foreign traders). B was a trader from Ethiopia. He once did hardware business in South Korea and now comes to Yiwu for business. To him, new products emerge "every month, every day, or at every minute". He and his wife now stayed in Yiwu buying hardware and stationary in wholesale and sold them in east Africa, North America and Europe. It is reported that Japanese goods and goods made in South Korea once dominated the commodity market in the Middle East. Now most of these goods are made in China. Foreign traders in Yiwu do not only do transactions there. A Korean trader, C, was invited to attend the 12th session of the Yiwu National People's Congress meeting. In a talk with leaders from local municipal government, he suggested that foreign traders granted more equal treatments with local traders in registration fees and in tax calculation. The Yemen traders also said that two years ago, he attended the Yiwu NPC meeting and suggested to build a mosque in Yiwu. Local government leaders took his advice and now it was convenient for them to make prayers. In addition, local government invested 1.2 billion yuan to build the International Village, the first community for foreign traders. The 30-storey building was completed recently and deputy director of the Yiwu South Korean Business Association said the international village gave them a sense of home.
