Yiwu International Trade City Long-distance Passenger Transportation Center Laid a Foundation

Yesterday morning, Yiwu International Trade City long-distance passenger transportation center project held a groundbreaking ceremony. This marks the start off of the municipal key construction project which is estimated to have an investment of 300 million yuan with a total land of 130 Mu. City leaders He Meihua, Tang Feifan, Wang Kuiming attended the ceremony.

It's told that the design concept of this transportation center originates from a brand new perspective proposed by a famous Professor Mr. Li Peilun, saying that "Yiwu is a new start point of the 'Silk Road' in the 21st century". Developing a "New Silk Road" is the common good will of Yiwu people as well as a goal striving for. The theme of the overall project not only vividly sketched the grand volume and majestic momentum of the long-distance passenger transportation center but also acts as a metaphor of the pioneering spirit of Yiwu people in the process of social and economic development.

Yiwu International Trade City long-distance passenger transportation center is located in the northeast of the main urban zone, close to the International Trade City District 2 and District 3 and is the center of Yiwu international commercial districts. The completion of the passenger transportation center will effectively ease the urban traffic pressure and bring great convenience to businessmen and citizens. This project integrates high-speed passenger transport, long-distance passenger transport, urban public transport, taxies and many other functions as a whole and will become a top level bus terminal with a traffic volume of 30,000 passengers daily. The project is expected to be put into use in the spring of 2012.
