yiwu shuanglin temple

yiwu shuanglin temple established in the Liang Dynasty of the Southern Dynasties, had been a famous land of Buddhism for generations of eminent monks, earning itself the honor of the Top Grandeur in China.Now it is located in Yunhuangshan Mountain, Fotang Town of Yiwu City.

For more than 1,500 years, the Shuanglin Temple survived after repeated ruins and renovations.and the incense is still flourshing. In 1958, in order to build a big water project, Shuanglin Temple was destroyed entirely and was sunk to the bottom of Shuanglin reservoir. In 1986, the local people rebuilt the Shuanglin Temple beside the reservoir. In June 1994, the government decided to renovate the temple and develop the scenic area. In 1997, the Great Buddha’s Hall, which is 1.6 meters higher than the Linyin Temple in Hangzhou, was built in Shuanglin Temple at the foot of Yunhuang Mountain.
