Africa Set Off “Yiwu Heat”
Recently, on the theme of current African commodities and African merchant residents in Yiwu, Amanda reporters specially interviewed Kalifa – a Mauritania merchant in Yiwu as well as the African Pavilion in Yiwu Imported Commodities Pavilion. African Commodities Exhibition Center will be built soon and a growing number of African merchants are attracted to come to visit and study, which set off “Yiwu Heat”.
Kalifa is an old China hand. Early in 1990, he went to study in China and thus became a solid promoter of “Yiwu Heat” in Africa. Since 2000, in addition to purchasing a small portion of goods to Africa, he was seldom entrusted to do the procurement. However, since “Yiwu Heat” stroke Africa, more and more Mauritania businessmen entrusted Kalifa to purchase Yiwu small commodities. He became a middleman. Yiwu has gradually become the focus of Africans and African commodities also entered Yiwu market.
In African Pavilion, people are stunned at African ebony, sandalwood and hardwood products. Principal of African Pavilion said after the completion of African Commodity Exhibition Center, they would bring more African crafts, jewelry and foods so that products will be more complete, which will be more effective in promoting the China-Africa economic and trade exchanges and expanding the impact of Yiwu in Africa.
