Yiwu history:
When you heard Yiwu, you may wonder why we called it like this. Dating back to Han dynasty, it was named Wushang after an old beautiful tale about crows helping Yanwu who was a very dutiful son dedicated him to bury his farther. The crow injured its beak to take mud for helping him. Wu means loyal crow in Chinese, hence the name.
Yiwu location:
Yiwu is situated in the central Zhejiang Province, connecting Guangdong and Fujian on the south and Shanghai on the north. It is 300 km to Shanghai and 120 km to Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang. Yiwu transportation is convenient with highway and railway connecting most big and medium-sized cities. Over 20 airlines have been opened to big cities.

Yiwu enjoyed subtropical monsoon climate, mild and humid, with annual average temperature of 17℃.

This land bred many scholars and famous person like Luobingwang, one of the four greats in the early Tang, the general Zongze who resist to Jing in Song Dynasty. Until now, people in Yiwu memorize him in the form of naming the bridge and street after him.
